Summer Enrollment
The following types of aid require summer enrollment of at least half-time:

TEXAS Grant requires summer enrollment of at least 9 credit hours.

There is no separate application for Summer financial aid. Simply complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA application and enroll in summer classes for your account to be reviewed for an award.
Subtract the amount of loans you accepted during the 2023-2024 academic year from the maximum annual borrowing limit for your grade level. Reference the chart below.

Please note, if you have reached your aggregate federal loan limit, you are not eligible for additional federal student loans. Alternative or private loans are available to assist you with paying for school. Contact a financial aid counselor at financialaid@lamar.edu for more information.
Students who received work-study in the Spring may apply for work-study in the Summer. Simply fill out the and submit to the Financial Aid Office.
To be eligible for a Pell Grant in the summer, you must meet all pell eligibility requirements. The amount you receive will depend on your Student Aid Index (SAI), the cost of attendance, and your enrollment status.
You may be eligible to receive the Teach Grant in the Summer if you meet all of the TEACH Grant Eligibility requirements and have not receive the full TEACH Grant payment amount in the previous fall and spring semesters.
